Walking on Okehampton - The area was originally called Whaler's Lookout, the commander of Maria Island Penal Settlement Maj Thomas Daunt Lord, was granted 1500 acres which he called Okehampton C1830. For many recent years it has been in the Weeding family, and it was a fine wool Merino Stud and farm. It was sold a few years ago.
