Man Turns Work Van Into DIY Motorhome Tiny Cabin
Tiny houses are a big deal these days. It’s a great trend for a lot of reasons. For one thing, tiny houses are affordable. A custom-built luxury tiny house is going to cost significantly less than a typical suburban home, and it’s going to be a lot more creative. Secondly, these homes offer an eco-friendly way of life in an increasingly crowded world. Thirdly, they’re mobile, which is awesome for those who want to make the entire world into their living room.
One of the most impressive tiny house designs we’ve seen is this converted work van. From the outside, it looks deceptively normal, almost like any old work van, save for the surprising addition of a stovepipe.
This is how it started …
Before its owner Dipa Vasudeva Das got the tools out and his idea came to life …
And finally, what he calls the ‘Earth Ship’ was born!
Incredible, isn’t it? It’ not the most expensive motorhome in the world, but the entire interior has been reworked in wood, and has a very rustic, earthy, inviting feel. Bohemian décor adds a magnificent flourish to the design. Even though it’s a tiny space, it feels like stepping into another world.
The finished effect is a little sanctuary on wheels. What an incredibly creative use for an old van. This is a small space which would feel anything but confining. It’s no wonder that Das decided to name it his “EarthShip!”
